Oil Price Rising Put New Pressure On PVA Costs

Leave a message

In recent days, Escalating tensions in the Middle East → Growing threats to crude oil supply and transportation → Increased supply risk premium in the oil market. In addition to the Strait of Hormuz, new risks have also emerged recently.

The Houthi movement, which maintains close ties with Iran, controls Mokha Port in Yemen and has increased threats to shipping in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Caused crude oil prices have risen sharply, now Brent crude is around USD 107 per barrel. And it is very likely to keep rising.

Impact on the PVA Market

Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) is closely connected to the upstream chemical value chain. Changes in energy, ethylene, acetic acid and vinyl acetate costs can eventually influence PVA production costs.

As energy and upstream feedstock costs increase, the PVA market is also facing renewed cost pressure.

For PVA buyers, securing supply and planning purchases in advance may become increasingly important as market volatility continues.
