Application
As re-wetting adhesive
PVA BP04 is applied as a re-wetting adhesive, leveraging its characteristic of activating upon contact with water and bonding after drying. So it is used in postage stamps, envelopes, labels. PVA BP04 is coated onto the paper backing. It becomes non-tacky when dry and only gains adhesiveness when moistened with water.
Suspending agent
PVA BP04 is used as a protective colloid for the polymerisation of PVAC. Prevents polymer particles from coalescing (sticking together) during polymerization. And used in suspension polymerization (e.g., for PVC) to disperse monomer droplets in water.
